Helping others reach their full potential

Mentoring and education holds a special place in my heart. I have worked with students from all over the world in learning new skills and guiding them through their transition into new career paths. Currently I’m part of Designlab's UX academy and also provide individual mentorship.

1. Get clarity on your learning journey

It’s overwhelming to learn from the vast amount of information on the Internet. I help mentees identify and prioritise what they need to learn. With a mentor, you will learn things you don’t find in books or courses. Unlike prepared materials, mentorship is not one-size-fits-all.

2. Grow quicker as a designer

Gain insight into how senior UX designers think and work. If you’re already working in the field, a mentor can recognise your blind spots and help you accelerate your growth. I’ve helped mentees improve their soft skills like communication, presentation and teamwork skills.

3. Receive career advice

Increase your confidence in your job search with support and advice from a mentor. Learn from a seasoned designer how to choose between different fields of work, how to evaluate job offers, how to negotiate and more.

4. Find a job in UX

If you’re struggling to find an internship or full-time job in UX, I can assess your situation and portfolio, and give advice as someone who has been on the other side of the table.

Who this can help?

Students or new graduates looking for their first UX job, the only UX designer in a company without guidance and career switchers looking to break into UX.

- Homework and side projects specifically for your growth and a reading list of resources curated for your level.

Paulami is a fantastic mentor, and I'm so thankful to have been mentored by her. Her knowledge and feedback has been extremely helpful to my growth as a designer. I can't believe this was our last mentor session! I am confident that any student that learns from her will be challenged and grow in ways that they never thought possible. Thank you for everything, Paulami!

Our 1-on-1 sessions were awesome! I walked away from each one with a lot of knowledge. Paulami was able to send me links, extra resources, videos etc. during each session and the screen-share aspect was really helpful because I'm a visual learner. It was cool to see some of her projects and to see how she's using Sketch. Paulami's critiques were very direct and actionable and I really appreciated her feedback and insight on the job market and opportunities that would suit my skills and my background.

Paulami was such a good mentor because she really encouraged me to think more about the why's of design. She helped open my mind to exploring the process of design and we spent a lot of time talking about getting into the right mindset to succeed in communicating clearly about design.
